News for May 2002: The Stirling Sonnets Wins the Callum Macdonald Memorial Prize

Stirling Sonnets has received the prestigious Callum Macdonald Award 2002 for poetry published in pamphlet form. The award was made at a ceremony at the National Library of Scotland on 10th May. The prize consists of the Callum Macdonald Quaich and a �500 cheque, which will be used by Kettillonia to continue to publish poetry in pamphlet form.

The Award was established in 2001 by Tessa Ransford, founder of the Scottish Poetry Library, in memory of her late husband Callum MacDonald, printer and publisher of many important Scottish literary works in the second half of the 20th Century. It is administered by the National Library of Scotland and generously supported by the Michael Marks Charitable Trust, The Saltire Society and many other individuals and organisations.
