NEW PUBLICATION AVAILABLE NOW: A Tapsalteerie Touer by Andrew Tannahill
"At a time when the poetry equivalent of the corporate big boys are playing it safer than ever, it's a genuine cause for rejoicing that small presses in Scotland can produce work of this quality." [NorthWords]
In the last few years Scottish poetry has received a much-needed shot in the arm from an explosion in pamphlet-publishing, helped by the establishment of the Callum Macdonald Memorial Award (see www.scottish-pamphlet-poetry.com) and a general recognition that small is not just beautiful but also efficient in connecting readers with quality writing.
has played its part in these developments: since the imprint was established, we've published 24 pamphlets, 18 of them works of poetry. In 1999 it was our stated policy to put "original, adventurous, neglected and rare writing into print" and we've tried to keep to that agenda with both verse and prose. We have three new works from three very different writers, Yang Lian, Jenni Daiches and Donald S. Murray. Read more about these by clicking on New Titles.
Remember that pamphlets tend not to be around for long: seven of our backlist titles are completely out of print and others are down to the last few copies, so if you want to secure what could become collectors' items buy now or be disappointed. Remember also that if you buy in multiples of four or more, our already very reasonable prices become absurdly so.
